Downing is the driving force behind the Islington Regeneration Company (IRC) – a partnership of developers committed to the regeneration of the district once known as the centre of Liverpool’s rag trade.
In November 2007 IRC’s outline proposals for the area, which include our own 20-acre site, received consent from Liverpool City Council’s Executive Committee. Architects Falconer Chester Hall have now been appointed to develop a masterplan for the area which will include 1.5 million sq ft of retail, leisure, hotel, student, office and residential space.
