17/11/2008 Knight Frank appointed at Port of Liverpool
Liverpool’s largest private commercial landlord Downing has appointed Knight Frank as joint agents with CBRE to market the iconic Port of Liverpool Building.
The appointment comes as Downing progresses one of the UK’s largest privately-funded refurbishments of a Grade II* Listed building at the landmark property on Liverpool’s World Heritage waterfront.
The £10 million scheme is delivering contemporary office suites alongside a sensitive restoration of the building’s interior and exterior using original materials.
Some 31,982 sq ft of commercial space is available to let at the building, in suites from 600 sq ft upwards.
Robin Ellis, senior agency surveyor at Downing, said: “We’re investing heavily to complement the Port of Liverpool Building’s architecture and location with modern office space that meets the exacting standards of high quality occupiers. By future-proofing the building, we’re not only ensuring it will be enjoyed by future generations, but that tenants can be assured of competitive service charges and no interruptions.”
Graham Bowling, partner at Knight Frank, added: “Downing’s ongoing programme of refurbishment and improvement has ensured that this iconic building has retained its position as a headline address for quality covenants. These improvements consistently add to the enhancement of the Waterfront location generally as an ever increasingly active location within the city.”
Downing’s refurbishment project has seen the Port of Liverpool Building become one of the city’s best performing commercial properties in 2008, with 20,000 sq ft of refurbished space let to blue chip firms including DHL Global Forwarding and Hapag-Lloyd.
