20/11/2008 Downing to manage Capital carpark in-house
Downing has taken the day to day management of the largest car park in Liverpool’s commercial district in-house.
The property group has replaced NCP as operators of the 1046-space New Quay car park beneath the Capital, as part of its continued investment in the Old Hall Street landmark.
Downing has commenced a substantial refurbishment to enhance security, lighting and signage and has added two new lifts to improve service for the car park’s 3,000 weekly customers.
The move has seen Downing retain all nine existing jobs and create one new role in the form of group parking services manager Michael Hall.
John Clegg, head of property management at Downing, said: “We’re committed to providing a seamless, professional service across all of our commercial properties. Bringing the management of the car park in-house will ensure our exacting standards are felt right across the building.”
As part of the property group’s £10 million refurbishment of the Capital, the building’s lifts have been refurbished and extended and now service all lower levels of the car park.
