GDC completed a comprehensive £10 million restoration of Downing’s iconic Port of Liverpool Building, one of the Three Graces and a World Heritage location. Work on the Grade 2 Listed Building encompassed the external stonework, windows and roof, and internal atrium.
At the Capital, Liverpool’s largest office building, it completed a £10 million fit out for the United Kingdom Borders Agency as well as a feature reception area, state of the art elevator block, new washroom facilities, lifts and lift lobbies and 220,000 sq ft of office floor refurbishments.
High security Government fit out specifications have also been delivered by George Downing Construction such as Ministry of Defence (Army Careers Office) in Victoria House.
Broadcasting House in Leeds, the listed building and former BBC headquarters was transformed to provide office space for Leeds Metropolitan University.
In Liverpool, the former Oxford Street Maternity hospital is now home to 63 studio apartments and 183 en-suite study bedrooms for students.
