Marketing Executive

Downing has been building, developing and managing award-winning, purpose-built student accommodation for more than 30 years across the UK’s leading cities. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate Marketing Executive with a keen interest in social media to join our in-house Sales & Marketing team based at our Head Office in Liverpool, helping to create and implement tactical campaigns.

Digital is at the heart of our marketing strategy. The successful candidate will help us improve brand awareness, increase traffic to our sales/booking platform and to provide a community forum for our residents. You will be able to create thumb-stopping content for Downing Students, working across a range of platforms including TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. You will use your fun and vibrant style to help drive B2B and B2C strategies, generate graphics and moving content, and use your excellent writing skills to communicate with our audiences.

You will be responsible for the timely delivery of marketing initiatives working alongside the in-house team and external agencies. As well as this, you will also handle our corporate LinkedIn profile, showcasing our commercial sites and increasing engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

Support the sales and marketing team to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns in line with the overall business strategy.

  • Create web, blog and social media content
  • Help create and send email campaigns
  • Work with the creative team to develop adverts, brochures, presentations and video content
  • Work with our paid digital team to understand the role paid social, PPC and display has in delivering our overall sales objectives. Have a keen focus on providing insight and feedback to ensure paid activity is optimised
  • Use platforms such as Hubspot, WordPress and Canva


Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working within a marketing role
  • Experience producing content e.g., written content for brochures, adverts or blogs and social media content
  • Excellent written and vocabular skills
  • Well organised and ability to review marketing campaigns
  • Ability to manage work load within a timely manner



  • A passion to learn more about digital marketing
  • Platform experience with WordPress, Hubspot, Google Data Studio, Photoshop
  • Social media application set up and reporting LinkedIn Advertising / Facebook Ads suite
  • An understanding of PPC, SEO and Google Analytics
  • Experience in creating and editing videos
