Downing has completed a 497 student bed scheme located next to North Acton station. The Holbrook scheme is located in the Mayor of London’s Old Oak & Park Royal Opportunity Area and is being designed by award-winning architects SimpsonHaugh and Partners.
The building reaches 24 storeys at its highest point and the scheme also delivers improved pedestrian access to North Acton station. Its 497 student residential bedrooms are arranged in a mixture of clusters of bedrooms, studio rooms and three and four bedroom apartments. Student facilities such as cinema room, common room and games area are provided. The landscaped roof terraces allow students to relax and enjoy their temporary home.
The development is the second Downing Students building in North Acton. The company already operates ‘The Lyra’ building on Portal Way, which offers 209 studio apartments for students studying at local institutions.
